About
A compliance-grade awareness platform
GetCheckmark is a Dublin-based B2B SaaS founded in 2019. We build the security-awareness certification platform we wanted to use when we were on the compliance side.
How we work
GetCheckmark was founded in Dublin in 2019 by Liam O'Connor and Aoife Murphy. The founding observation was that the security-awareness software category was structurally weak on audit defensibility — vendors produced engagement metrics and completion dashboards, while the compliance buyers needed evidence packs and verification metadata that those platforms simply did not produce.
Our thesis is that awareness training is a control with audit-evidence requirements, not a campaign with engagement metrics. Build the audit-defensibility right and the rest of the platform follows; build the engagement metrics first and you end up retrofitting the audit story under pressure during the next certification cycle.
We are a team of 28 people headquartered in Dublin, with a small London office and remote contributors across the EU. We have raised one funding round (a 5.5M EUR seed in 2021 led by Atlantic Bridge Capital, with participation from two European specialist B2B SaaS investors) and have remained capital-disciplined relative to our category.
We build for the regulated mid-market. Our customers are mostly between 500 and 10,000 employees, in regulated industries — financial services, healthcare, payments, regulated software — where the audit cycle is part of the operating rhythm and compliance evidence is procurement-critical.
We publish reading guides and audit-preparation notes on the compliance notes page. The most-read piece is an annual update on what SOC 2 auditors are looking for in awareness evidence; the 2026 update is currently the second-most trafficked page on our site after the home page.
Our values
Audit-defensible by default
Every artefact the platform produces is designed to land cleanly in an auditor's work-paper. We test against real audits, not against a sample document.
Customer-evidence transparency
Customers can see what evidence we have on their tenant, how it would appear in an auditor's hands, and what our retention policy is. Full transparency, no hidden artefacts.
No sales-led demos
Walkthroughs are hands-on, run by people who can answer technical questions, with no expectation of a follow-up sales process unless you ask for one.
Ireland-based, EU-hosted
Our operations and customer data both sit in the EU. We do not transfer customer data to the United States; this is a feature of how we operate, not a configurable preference.
